On Thursday 20th February, the Charles Plater Trust held its 9th awards evening. As former recipients Catholic Care were invited to take part in the celebration to share learning and meet this year’s award winners. In 2018 the charity was awarded a grant to fund its Safer Together Project, an initiative to promote healthy none violent relationships in young people, aiming to break the cycle of domestic abuse and violence. The project delivered to children aged 5-18 in Catholic Schools across the Diocese has reached over 6,000 children and young people through its workshops.
The Charles Plater Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to advancing the work of Father Charles Plater by developing social justice through education. Established as the successor to the former Plater College, Oxford, the Trust makes grants to organisations throughout England and Wales in pursuit of the Plater vision in its modern context. We wish the new 2020 recipients all the very best as they take forward their work.
