Fish and chips, no matter how or where they are eaten, are a true staple of the British diet. That was what was on the menu at our pre summer event held on the lawns of head office.
Tables were laid under a marquee and the stalls under shelter of gazebos ready for people to arrive. Those who attended the event included staff, trustees, supporters from the Parishes and of course the people we care for and support.
The food was enjoyed by all with a glass of wine or soft drink from the drinks bar, followed by ice cream.
This event however wasn’t just about the meal, though I am sure that is what enticed most people, it was the getting together and having fun that was first on the menu.
As well as the ever so popular tombola, we enjoyed ‘name the fish’, a stall of freshly baked cup cakes, decorated with a theme of ‘the seaside’, specially donated for the event and a raffle.
This event couldn’t have taken place without the contribution of so many people, which didn’t just include raffle prizes, items for the tombola and the cakes but the gift of time. Everyone ‘chipped’ in with the planning, preparation and running of stalls to make this event the success it was.
For those who had a guess; the winning name for the fish was “Billy the Fish”. All raffle prizes were claimed on the night.
So to all those that supported this event we thank you…
