Catholic Care has been successful in applying to the ‘Keeping Faith in Health’ awards through the University of Leeds Centre for Religion and Public Life School of Philosophy.
The University of Leeds has made available a small grants fund to support the development of ‘pilot projects’ that connect statutory, community, and faith sectors together to tackle social isolation and promote health and well-being in Chapeltown and Harehills. Projects have to demonstrate that they can connect religious organisations and/or Places of Worship with statutory or voluntary groups/organisations. Also projects must be concerned with tackling social isolation and promoting health and wellbeing in Chapeltown and Harehills.
Catholic Care, in partnership with St Augustine’s Primary School and St Augustine’s Parish, will launch ‘Stay and Play’, a group for parents, grandparents and carers to bring babies and toddlers for fun, relaxation and early learning. The group will start on the 16th June.
Catholic Care will be working alongside Dr Caroline Starkey at the University of Leeds looking at the impact of the group over time, using an interactive robust evaluation tool.
